B-Independent Review:
by Allen Richards

The old adage is that a movie is only as good as the script from which it's based, and that's never more evident than in David Otteni's UNEARTHEN, a 40 minute short that's all fun and games comprised entirely of wonderfully goofy dialogue between two loveably dumb rednecks. Think MY DINNER WITH BILLY BOB.
Miller and Otteni are the magic that make UNEARTHEN work. They bring a deadpan sense of humor to the outlandish nature of the story that allows viewers to shake their heads in disbelief while churning that "what if" in the back of their minds...
UNEARTHEN is movie that far outshines it's presentation rather than being complemented by it. That's a good thing. Trust me. You'll be as charmed by this movie as I was.

Unearthen: Inspired Lunacy.
by Syd Garry

This micro-budget effort restores my faith in humanity. It does the heart good to think that two stumble-bums with a home camcorder could pull off a feature so inventive, so terrifyingly funny, and in the process, make total asses of themselves.
The suspense is suffocating; the drama nauseating, and the surprises took my breath away. Either I'm in love with this film...or I have the flu.
The cinematography is artfully crafted by Tripod. I have long been a fan of Tripod's work and found its exhaustive contribution to this production to be mostly steady and on the mark.
If I had to select a movie to show to a room full of angry foreign refugees, it would be this one.
If I was forced to watch a movie while at the same time being pummled with a ballpeen hammer, it would be this one.
And if I had to pick a movie to write a review about while teetering on the edge of a drug induced seizure . . . well . . . it was this one!

We Dig Unearthen
by Baal-Peor

"From Washington State film director David Otteni of Waffle Productions, comes the crafty Unearthen.. This situation comedy centers around two desperate men who must return to the scene of an old crime in order to cash in on their exploitation. This uplifting and often hilarious movie is more like a continual dissing between two cranky men and those jokes are exchanged freely (especially after a few swigs on Jimbo's beer)!"

An Unspeakable Mag Review:
by Tracy Crockett

. . . The performances of Rick Miller and David Otteni really sell the shit out of this flick. Their character portrayals of your typical bumbling idiots taking their shots at each other are hilarious and make for a really cool flick to watch.
. . . I felt like Miller and Otteni could make about 40 films where they were two goofy buddies and would make it work. Their facial expressions and believable dialogue made this a good one from start to finish. Taking off on an Abbot and Costello format UNEARTHEN works people.

Guestbook Review:
by Michael Pierce

I have never seen a movie quite like this one. The language was very bad, but i would be a complete hypocrite to complain too much about that as i use words that bad and worse on a daily basis. I am a fan of truly bad movies so i must say i liked this one very much. Its plotline is really funny. Following these two idiots around the wilderness makes me think two of the three stooges have been resurected and are still making films. And i wont tell you which two. you decide. When you watch the film, it is apparent that it is cheap. but i have never seen a cheap independant film that looked and sounded so clean and had such a rapid pace. Didnt bore me at all. And its sort of in poor taste............which i must admit...........is right up my alley too. Big kudo's to this one and i hope there is an Unearthen 2. There is an opening a mile wide for another one.
